crashcam has no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking. It handles three things: the camera and microphone, the clips you save, and your subscription.
While the app is open, it keeps the last few moments of video and sound in memory so a clip can start before you press the button. Anything you don't save is overwritten and never leaves your phone. Nothing is recorded while the app is closed.
You choose in Settings where new clips are kept:
Clips in crashcloud are filed under a random identifier made on your phone at first launch. It is not linked to your name, Apple account or device.
The app only adds clips to your photo library when you ask it to. It never reads your photos.
Apple handles payment. We never see your name, Apple account or payment details; the app only asks Apple whether a subscription is active.
crashcloud runs on a cloud hosting provider that stores clips for us and, like any internet service, sees your phone's IP address. We don't use it to identify or track you.
No analytics or crash reporting, no advertising, no sharing or selling of data, no access to contacts, location or your photos.
crashcam is not for children under 13.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR), you have rights to access and delete your data and to complain to a data protection authority. Email us to use them.
We will update this page and its date if anything changes. Questions or requests: lofo@crashcam.app.
